Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). The property was amazing and the host was super kind and polite. The room was an old style Japanese room with futon. Breakfast and dinner were also good. Bathrooms are shared but very clean. The common area is a plus where you can meet other people and share experiences. I totally recommend it.

Only a 5-minute drive from Miyajima Ferry Port with its free shuttle, beautiful ocean views can be enjoyed from Miyajima Seaside Hotel. Amazing experience in a traditional style with a modern comfort. The hotel is located in a quiet place ~20 mins walk from the ferry port. It may sound far but the hotel provides the shuttle bus as often as you need. We were prepared for the ryokan rules about the shoes, so it wasn’t a surprise for us. The traditional room is very beautiful, clean, looks better in real life than on the pictures. Nice view from the window, I even saw an eagle on the tree. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. Usually the staff set up the bed after the dinner but they set it up for me when I asked for a day nap. The dinner and breakfast servings is extraordinarily. Nice choice of exclusive souvenirs, especially loved the Momiji manju cookies, the ones from the hotel are MUCH better than the ones from the shopping street. In general, I highly recommend to stay here at least for 1-2 night for better exploration of Miyajima without rush.

Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. Incredible staff, they were very helpful! The rooms are big, and you even get a Japanese style greeting.

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. This was our favorite hotel in Japan! We stayed only one night to get to see the island of Miyajima a bit more, and staying here was such a nice experience. In particular, the dinner at the hotel was so special and delicious! You need to message them to make the reservation some days in advance, but they were always very responsive. The facilities of the hotel were really great: the public baths, the rooftop terrace, the footbath café. Finally, the staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Very kind and welcoming host who made us feel at home. The guesthouse is recently and tastefully renovated traditional house. Triple room is large and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Short walk from the train station and local attractions.

Very homely stay, almost like I was visiting my old parents house. It's a guest house with only 3 rooms, so it's quiet and private. Had very welcoming staff interactions and this is a great place to stay and explore the local islands from.

A lovely experience that makes you feel like a true countryside local. The host made sure we stopped to get groceries at the local Supermarket, and offered us a ride from the nearby Train station. Tatami floors and shoji screen walls make this place feel full of Japanese tradition. A cozy nearby onsen (with snacks and drinks!) and small friendly bakery nearby really make this place feel special. I would love to come back next time I need a quiet escape from the city life.
