Each floor (both the first and second) has its own bathroom and toilet, which made the stay super comfortable. The location is unbeatable — just steps away from Otaru Canal, dessert shops, sushi street, glass studios, and the music box museum — yet the house itself is tucked inside a quiet residential lane, so it’s peaceful and relaxing. The house also has a small kitchen. It’s not big and is shared with guests from another unit, but it’s fully equipped and very convenient. We sometimes made our own breakfast or heated up food we bought outside — everything worked perfectly. Each room has its own refrigerator, so that’s private, and only the stove is shared, which actually feels safer and more hygienic. I stayed here for three nights, slept incredibly well every night, and it really helped me adjust my jet lag. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Otaru!

Boasting free bikes, garden and views of mountain, Farm Stay Ezura Farm is set in Engaru, 45 km from Azumamachi Hall. We enjoyed our stay, getting far out of the city/suburbs and relaxing in the countryside. This is a very small establishment with only 3 total rooms. The owners are very friendly and speak good English. The ingredients they use for the meals are great and they cook/prepare everything so well. The views from the room remind you of an oceanfront villa, but instead a green ocean (if in Summer) of corn with a backdrop of beautiful hills and pasture.
