We booked a Japanese-style riverside villa with our own private bath — the spacious interior and beautiful outdoor views were well worth the price. There were many different types of public baths too with varying views/ambiances. Dinner and breakfast were top-notch — you can tell that they’re made of quality ingredients.

The units in the guest house are fitted with a kettle. All units have a shared bathroom, slippers and bed linen. We had an amazing time and evening with them and the other guests. We also were helped out with a vegeterian dinner since the restaurants nearby did not offer such an option. Our unexpected highlight of the trip!

At the villa, there is a dressing room for guests to change in. Easy 10 min walk from Uchinomaki station, so accessible also without a car (just watch the train schedule since trains are only once per hour or so). This is just one train stop from Aso station, so provides easy access to Mt. Aso and the surrounding area. The kitchen is fully equipped (cutlery, pans, condiments, etc) and there is a small grocery store nearby to buy ingredients. Rooms are large, and there is a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a japanese - style bathroom. The piano in the living room was a great and unexpected bonus. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but it would have been a great base to explore the Aso area and we would have loved to stay for longer.

The guest house has a hot tub and a shared kitchen. What an incredible place to have stay. We feel so lucky to have met the hosts and been able to stay in this amazing home. Staying here is just an incredible experience, the home is stunning and fun to explore, the views are great and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our only wish is that we had stayed even longer.

The owner is very thoughtful in terms of providing useful amenities. Location is also good, close to many parking lots, walkable to shopping streets and restaurants.

We arrived in the evening, in the downpour and darkness, feeling lost in the middle of nowhere. A cozy cottage was waiting for us: with heating on, beautifully furnished to the smallest details, very clean, very well equipped, comfortable. Just perfect. Due to an accident with a broken car window, we had a pleasure to meet the host. He helped us complete the formalities, secured the car for the rest of our journey and made sure that the remnants of glass wouldn’t have hurt anyone or anything. It is difficult to express how grateful we are and we regret that we cannot give a higher rating

Located in the Kurokawa Onsen district in Minamioguni, inn NOSHIYU offers 3-star rooms with free WiFi. A hot tub is available for guests. Hacchobaru Power Station Museum is 9.3 km from the bed and breakfast. The hotel felt very warm and the onsens are completely amazing! The rooms are big and the bed was very comfortable. At night, most of the stores and restaurants are closed or fully booked so make sure to reserve a sit in advance. The area in the morning is wonderful and was not crowded at all. We really enjoyed it and we would be glad to visit again in the future.
