Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Staff are nice and professional. Great arrangement and communication in advance. Private onsen is perfect for a family with kids and elderly. We stayed here for 2 nights with great variety of food.

The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. It’s in a more remote location, so it’s very peaceful. The couple running たね are so very kind, and their cooking is exceptional. Breakfast was so delicious. We wish we spoke better Japanese so we could have talked more. They were such interesting people.

Wonderful apartment that really feels like a home. Would have loved to stay longer. Good location, close to Kumamoto Castle. Very nice and helpful hosts. Simply perfect.

The kitchen was functional, WiFi worked perfectly and the washing machine was a plus! The beds were comfortable and we had some very good night sleep being surrounded just by nature. The staff is available if needed. The view of mount Aso is amazing. It's located in a little wood area surrounded by fields, 10 min drive from the nearest Onsen Town (recommend trying one of the public ones for sure!). We would love to stay here again!

If you want to have a break from the big cities in your Japan roadtrip Soils is the perfect place. You can go to a real cute market place where everything is from the farms around, such a nice moment. The owners were nice and careful. From our arrival to the departure they were here to take care of us if we needed anything. Thank you very much for your time and kindness.

You can use Bose inside the room. Western breakfast is great. They have a private onsen and public onsen which is big and comfortable. They also have pick up service.

The host was exceptionally kind and supportive in helping guests plan their travels and is invested in maintaining and rebuilding the culture of the area. I didn’t have a car and he drove me to the station multiple times and went above and beyond to make sure I found where I was going. The accommodations were clean, modern, and comfortable.
