This was a beautiful room, very attractive design, spacious and in a perfect area for touring Kurashiki. It is exactly as pictured. The beds were comfortable and everything was immaculate. Check in was easy. Good communication with hosts, and restaurant recommendations, which was helpful. It’s not a hotel per se, and so no meals included but they provided a basket of fruit and baked goods daily and coffee, so that was perfect for breakfast. It was all we needed. The seating area has a good view over the canal so you could not be better situated.

As expected from the Japanese service in ryokan, the comfort is exceptional. The staff were hospitable. The rooms were clean and functional. Breakfast had many dishes to choose from. My parents were very happy. Thank you!

The facilities were exceptional with a nice LARGE bath, plenty of room and a fully equipped kitchen. Owner was very caring and filled the fridge with delicious local food, including the legendary Okayama Pione grape. Will come again next time we need to stay at Okayama!

We had a great stay at toranjyo lit, a traditional ryokan house. It is simple but has everything you need and it’s very charming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tips how to structure our nioshima/teshima trip and picking us up from the bus stop.

Wonderful staff who welcomed us, kept our luggage, explained everything we needed to know about getting to Naoshima and Teshima, the fantastic fresh bagel breakfast! Everything. We couldn’t recommend Uno Port Inn highly enough! The onsen at Uno is amazing and great local restaurants. We could have stayed longer than one night as it’s a good way to spend a day at Teshima and then travel on to Naoshima the next day.

Located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, Ryori Ryokan Tsurugata offers Japanese-style accommodations in a historical building from the Edo period. This was a very special place to stay- I think possibly the best hosted experience I have ever had. It is a traditional ryokan and so I expected the courteous welcome and the room to be laid out with a futon while I ate, as well as a lovely ‘ofuro’ bath. However my expectations were exceeded because the staff gave a truly warm and welcoming, homely service - I really felt as if I were a guest in someone’s home. Everything was explained in detail so that I could appreciate the flowers, the history of the town, best places to visit, the local art gallery (they even have local artwork in the hotel) and of course the ‘Kaiseki Ryori’ (formal many course meal). I was quite sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt like a ‘respected guest’ - thank you so much!

Very spacious, stylish, clean, and comfortable! It was a great place to stay with friends. There was a game room with a lot of board games for us to enjoy as well. Would definitely stay here again!
