Inase Otsu Machiya Bed and Breakfast, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is situated in Otsu, 10 km from Daigo-ji Temple, 11 km from Shoren-in Temple, as well as 11 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Featuring garden and inner courtyard views, this bed and breakfast also comes with free WiFi. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is 12 km away and Mount Hiei is 14 km from the bed and breakfast. Very comfy home, there's a lot of temples in Otsu, so it was nice to be able to visit them, however things do close early because it's a smaller town. The breakfast and staff were amazing :)

A free shuttle runs to/from JR Ogoto-Onsen Station, which is a 5-minute ride away. This is our first time in Japan and we landed straight for 4 nights in this great hotel. You get the full japanese experience when you land including traditional Japanese breakfasts and dinners, the dinners are amazing so take the half board. The rooms are big, beautiful and facilitated and the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. It is located about 15 minutes by train outside of Kyoto but if you like to leave the crowds behind at night it's worth the commute.

A free shuttle is available from JR Ogoto Onsen Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and a 20-minute train ride to Kyoto Station. The on balcony onsen was amazing. As a couple with tattoos we couldn't use the main baths but this was perfect. Used it in the evening after dinner and then again in the morning watching the sun come up. The room was large and comfortable. The food was excellent.
