Excellent stuff. Excellent experience. Room has really tiny walls however I was quite lucky with quiet neighbors. Also nice, quiet and beautiful neighborhood.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. The location is very quiet, despite being in the middle of one of Tokyo's most visited spots. Close to everything, with lots of great restaurants, cafes and shopping. And more desserts and snacks that you could wish for. The ryokan was better than I expected, the room was not huge, but comfortable. The direct view of the pagoda from the window is great. Wonderful service all around.

The entire place is very clean and new. The landlord even decorate the building with xmas decorations and place complimentary bath salt for guests to take at the lift lobby area. While being an airbnb apartment, we can see landlord or caretaker adjusting xmas decoration, emptying the trash and topping up the trash bags frequently. Can see that the landlord has made great effort in maintaining the apartment. The washing machine in our apartment is easy to operate and we love the laundry drying space in the bathroom via warm heater. It provides us with so much convenience to wash and dry the laundy at ease. Location is also conveniently located near walking distance (est. 5 to 8 mins) to Shin Okubo station and Shin Okubo Station is just 1 direct station from Shinjuku station! Plenty of Chinese and Korean restaurants and convenient shops. Love the apartment, location, amenities and everything!

Had a very pleasant stay at the hotel for our 11-day trip. While we had the smallest studio available (booking.com did not seem to have any other sizes listed), it was decent bearing in mind Japanese hotel room sizes, and clean and well laid out. Kitchen was very well equipped, with ample cutlery, crockery and even bakeware. Friendly and responsive staff, even had a large amount of adapters and umbrellas for us to borrow. Soundproofing was also very good, we were not even aware that there were other guests on our floor until we bumped into them at the elevator. There was some repair work going on in the corridors but frankly we could not hear a thing! What I was very pleasantly surprised about was how convenient the location was; coffee and bakeries literally two doors down, more convenience stores than I could count within a 150m radius, and two very well linked stations barely 2 minutes' walk from the property. It was also a pleasant 25 minute walk to main Ginza, for those who want to enjoy some night life without worrying about extortionate taxi rides home (metro stops running before half past midnight). All in all, would definitely recommend the hotel for couples on busy trips who want a safe and relaxed, but well linked place to stay.
