The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very kind and friendly. They even have a in house baker who serves delicious buns in the after noon. Breakfast was amazing.

We loved the position being tight on the beach , the restaurant was also looking over the beach with beautiful cool breezes. The staff are all very friendly and helpful

The house was majestic. Upon entrance it was like stepping into an oasis from the narrow, but cozy streets of Lamu Town. The architecture was stunning and its aesthetics and functionality impressive. As the house is glass and roof free the natural ventilation was a constant fresh and cool breeze in 30 degrees celsius weather. The house help Jamuhuri had the kindest soul. Everything felt safe and it always felt like coming home because he was there. The house was always clean and Jamuhuri was always ready to help with anything we needed. Asante sana!

We had a magical week at Mangrove House. It’s simple but perfect, and in an absolutely ideal location. Breakfast was always delicious, and Nyevu and Harrison were so helpful and gracious. We would recommend Mangrove House to anyone looking for a unique, private, gorgeous place in Lamu.

From the beginning, Mr Safari and the team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We loved how helpful Safari was from meeting us off the boat to personally escorting us to the airport. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The dinner was excellent - we would highly recommend ordering the fresh crab!

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Banana House and Wellness Centre is located in Shela village, Lamu 2.7 km from Gallery Baraka. The property is set 2.8 km from Lamu Fort. Beautiful big room with lovely views from the terrace. Great location, quiet and walkable to the beach, restaurants etc, with a really nice spa right across from the centre. Staff very helpful and supportive with arranging tours and trips.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Gorgeous house with amazing swahili flair, lovely hosts. Seems like they contribute to the Lamu community in a big way, they are well known and loved with everyone I spoke to. Hotel staff will help you organize any outing you‘d like, I can recommend Dhow trips, but they also help with other activities (plus reasonable pricing recommendations). Eco friendly facilities and the breakfast is amazing with ingredients sourced almost exclusively from their own Lamu farm.
