The guesthouse and Rooms are very clean, with a really nice design. The overall atmosphere of the place is amazing. The Rooms had everything that I needed, very good amenities in the place. There is a beautiful chill area with a hammock that is perfect for reading. Neighbourhood is nice, not gentrified compared to other places on the island. Amazing host that helps with everything and gives recommendations.

Every morning the owner made me a great coffee, and in the evenings his wife prepared the best vegetable soup. For exploring the island, it’s ideal to rent a scooter — you can do so right upon arrival at Longset Pier, and if you don’t have too much luggage, you can head straight to the guesthouse. Overall, I truly recommend this place

Popular points of interest near the lodge include Lazy Beach, Saracen Bay Beach and Sunset Beach. The location (sunset beach) was perfect for a relaxation, everyone (incl other places on this side of the island) were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the 15-20min trek through the jungle to get to sunset beach. We were pretty active so would only sleep in the tent and for that it does the job just fine.

He managed to help us in all things that we needed on the remote Island. Wow. This was amazing place with great host. Located 200 metres from M’Pai Bay Beach, Sam's Guesthouse M'Pai Bay offers accommodation with a terrace, as well as a garden and a bar. It is set less than 1 km from M’Pai Bay Wild Beach and provides bicycle parking. It is possible for guests to sit outside and enjoy the property grounds. We absolutely loved our time on koh rong sanloem and at Sam’s guesthouse. She was absolutely amazing and helped us with anything we needed. She gave us loads of information about the island, recommended places which were good to eat and any events that were happening and she was always up for a chat. We wanted to stay an extra night as we loved it and she happily accommodated us at a discounted price which was fab! The room was lovely, and perfect for what we needed for a few nights. The rooms do get quite hot obviously but there is a fan. It’s in such a good location too, a couple minute walk to the beach and lots of bars and restaurants around. If you’re thinking of staying on koh rong sanloem I would highly recommend here! The island does experience some power cuts but they didn’t last long at all and weren’t an inconvenience for us, but it’s not any of the hotel/guesthouses fault so don’t blame them for it.
