The Sri Lankan food served here was exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and authentic. This is an ideal place for anyone visiting Wilpattu National Park. Highly recommended for the location, hospitality, and overall experience!

Offering free bikes and garden view, Wilpattu Mookalan Resort is set in Habawewa, 39 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 39 km from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. The guest house features family rooms. We had a wonderful visit. The resort is located immediately outside the National Park, so the location is perfect. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The area is quiet and you can hear the birds and the jungle sounds (we even heard an elephant!) The resort is family run and the host, his wife and two sons were very friendly and helpful. The meals were good and (very) plentiful. We enjoyed a safari in the park with the host and there are walking paths on the lake outside the park where we saw lots of birds. Overall a great experience.

There is a private entrance at the villa for the convenience of those who stay. The villa offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Very nice, clean and modern room surrounded by nature and very close to Wilpattu national park. We arrived from airport quite late and they organized transport and a delicious vegetarian dinner for us, apart from a beautiful safari the next day. Everybody was so nice, we had a very lovely time at Life of Leisure.

It’s a peaceful oasis which is new and clean and overlooks a beautiful lotus covered lake. There are all kinds of bird life in the garden including wild peacocks. The hosts have created a paradise and were truly the most accommodating and kind hosts we met. We actually moved there from an alternate guest house in Habarana because the first one was in a dreadful state and very noisy. The Lake Wind is just the opposite. We are two older cousins, discerning travellers, seeking comfort at our ages and had the two rooms with lots of space in each suite. Big clean bathroom. We had a delicious dinner cooked by our hosts and then a delicious breakfast served up in a gorgeous hut on stilts overlooking the lake. I recommend this place as the best place to stay if you want to see the sights around Habarana. It’s convenient to all attractions. It’s far enough away from the main road to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep on the big comfortable beds. The showers have good pressure and hot water- unlike the first place we had stayed at. They even provided a plug socket for all shapes of electrical plugs.

Kalahara, the host, was just exceptional. He does not overlook a single detail and he is gracious and willing to share excellent suggestions with you. I loved that he walked me through his garden, pointing out all of the unique trees and plants he has.

There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. The owner and his right hand Shiran who were just amazing and will say yes to everything you need! Amazing people! Got lemon juice and the most yummy sugar lemon roti for welcome drinks, they made us feel at home. The location was perfect, out of the hustle and bustle of the town and close enough to be close to all the attractions. Nice big room, comfy bed, hot water (hot /cold water in different pipes) but you can shower with only the hot. Clean and really just perfect. Stay here!

Wonderful environment with excellent hospitality. Can enjoy bird watching at the pond and the paddy fields. I highly recommend this place.

The owners, Leo and Wanda, couldn’t do enough to help our stay go smoothly. They helped shape are itinerary and suggestions additions that were fantastic, eg Sri Lankan dance show at the cultural centre, organising a fabulous yoga teacher, as well as great safari. Relaxed and happy vibe to the place with lovely pool area.

The property has pool views and is 10 km from Pidurangala Rock and 11 km from Sigiriya Rock. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. We had a great stay at Visu Villa. Ruwan is a great host who is very kind and helpful. He showed us nice places around Habarana and told us more about the way of live. The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. Also the pool is nice and refreshing. We can recommend the elephant safari. It was beautiful and they go when it is not so busy. The workers who did the safari with us even made an aftervideo. We totally recommend Visu Villa!
