New Homestay with comfortable big rooms. Very nice shower, better than what I have at home. Silent airconditioning. Not cheap but worth the price because of the quality of the rooms. Extra will be breakfast 1200,diner 1500, softdrinks 300-500. Food good though. Contact with the manager only by phone, that's a pity, contact with the local family who takes care of the accommodation and food is very good, though little English.

Apresentando bicicletas gratuitas, jardim e acesso Wi-Fi gratuito, Wilpattu Mookalan Resort situa-se em Habawewa, a 39 km de Kumbichchan Kulama Tank e a 39 km de Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Great location. Nicely tucked away from the road amongst the forest. Lots of birds including jungle fowl to watch from the patio. Walk in from the road via a pathway. They met us to help carry our bags. Dinner was traditional Sri Lankan curry - vegetarian or chicken. Followed by yoghurt and fruit for dessert. Plenty of food, not spicy and was yummy. Other options for dinner were fried rice or vegetable noodles. Breakfast was packed for us for the following day safari. 2 egg sandwiches, a banana, yoghurt and water. Sufficient for the half day. The best part is the very close lake and dirt road. We went for a walk with binoculars and saw deer, langurs, crocodile, hornbills and lots of other birds and lizards too. A much better, slower paced experience and one not to miss. We booked a half day tour with the host. In hindsight we would have booked a different tour. Pillows weren't overly comfortable but was OK for 1 night.

The best place we stayed at! The room was spacious and clean. Each room has its own terrace, and there’s also plenty of seating in the beautiful garden. Every morning, we had breakfast in the treehouse overlooking the lake. Gamini and his wife are such lovely hosts. He picked us up from the train station, organized a safari and an Ayurveda treatment for us, and took us on a tour to see Sigiriya/Pidurangala Rock and the temples in Dambulla. His wife prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us. They always made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The Wi-Fi was also good.

The property is surrounded by nature, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with great air conditioning and a lovely view of the garden. What really made this stay unforgettable was the hospitality. Kalhara and his wife are truly amazing people – always available, always smiling, and genuinely eager to help with anything. They even arranged a massage and a delicious homemade dinner for us, which we enjoyed under the stars. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine made with love. Every detail was taken care of, and we felt more like guests in a family home than in a hotel. We can’t thank our hosts enough for such a beautiful experience. If you’re visiting Habarana and Hurulu eco park, don’t miss the chance to stay here – it’s a hidden gem filled with warmth, kindness, and unforgettable memories.

From assisting with our luggage to warmly welcoming us with a choice of coffee or tea, their constant smiles added to the warmth of our experience. The breakfast was not to be missed - every aspect was meticulously prepared, resulting in a delicious and fulfilling meal. We extend our heartfelt thanks for making us feel truly at home, even when we were far away from our own.

Com vista do jardim, Oleena Home Stay encontra-se em Habarana e possui um restaurante, serviço de quartos, snack-bar, jardim e terraço. Jeewa, Masha, and Oleena made our stay wonderful. Their homestay is lovely, jungle vibes. The room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious, and Masha's dinner is very tasty. Jeewaa was always giving us advice and helping us to decide what to do around. We went on a safari with a guide that he recommended, and apart from being cheaper than other places, the guide was also very knowledgeable and professional. We wanted to do some Ayurvedic spa treatments, and we found other places quite expensive, but Jeewaa recommended us a local Ayurvedic centre, and the place was half the price then other places and it was SO GOOD! Our kids had the best time, Oleena (the couples' daughter) was always so friendly and playing with our kids. Our kids ended up joining the neighbourhood kids' gang. We had the most wonderful stay if one day we come back to Sri Lanka, we would definitely go back to Oleena's homestay. Jeewaa, Masha and Oleena, thank you so much.

The owners, Leo and Wanda, couldn’t do enough to help our stay go smoothly. They helped shape are itinerary and suggestions additions that were fantastic, eg Sri Lankan dance show at the cultural centre, organising a fabulous yoga teacher, as well as great safari. Relaxed and happy vibe to the place with lovely pool area.

What a place! We had the best time at Visu Villa. If you would like the planning hassle taken out of your trip for a few days, hand yourselves over to Ruwan and the team at Visu Villa. We stayed for three nights at this lovely family run oasis tucked away about a km out of Habarana. Ruwan and his sister Kawshalya made us feel so welcome and Ruwan seamlessly planned and executed the next three days for us. His attention to detail was amazing. We met the team one by one and their service was just great including jeep driver Irosh and tuk tuk driver Anthony. There is a bar, a lovely pool, home cooked food by Tharidu, great people and nice comfy rooms. If you are a fiercely independent traveller who wants to control every minute and rupee this is perhaps not the place for you. The joy of Visu Villa is trusting in Ruwan and his very fair pricing, eating the recommended food, going to the recommended places, being taken care of, having fun with the team and enjoying Sri Lankan hospitality at it's best. Thanks Ruwan and team for a truly memorable three days.

Wasantha went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! He collected us from our previous accommodation in Trincomalee at a fair price, organised an excellent guide for the next day, and when he heard we were keen to try new food he provided amazing Sri Lankan style food for breakfast and dinner.
