A Perfect Start to Our Sri Lanka Adventure – Moni Farmhouse, Wilpattu Our stay at Moni Farmhouse in Wilpattu was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized by Buddika, who managed our transfers, meals, accommodation, and safari experience with incredible professionalism and kindness. He personally arranged our pick-up from Negombo, coordinated the drive to Wilpattu, and took care of every detail of our stay. The following day, we enjoyed a full-day safari in Wilpattu National Park, which I highly recommend! We were lucky enough to spot sloth bears, leopards, and elephants—a truly unforgettable experience. Moni Farmhouse is brand new and beautifully designed. It felt like staying in a private suite surrounded by nature, offering peace, comfort, and total immersion in the wilderness. All our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—were freshly prepared and delicious. After our stay, Buddika also arranged our transfer to Anuradhapura, making everything seamless and stress-free. We are deeply grateful to Buddika for his warm welcome and outstanding hospitality. Thanks to him, our journey through Sri Lanka started in the best possible way. Highly recommended!

Nicely tucked away from the road amongst the forest. Lots of birds including jungle fowl to watch from the patio. Walk in from the road via a pathway. They met us to help carry our bags. Dinner was traditional Sri Lankan curry - vegetarian or chicken. Followed by yoghurt and fruit for dessert. Plenty of food, not spicy and was yummy. Other options for dinner were fried rice or vegetable noodles. Breakfast was packed for us for the following day safari. 2 egg sandwiches, a banana, yoghurt and water. Sufficient for the half day. The best part is the very close lake and dirt road. We went for a walk with binoculars and saw deer, langurs, crocodile, hornbills and lots of other birds and lizards too. A much better, slower paced experience and one not to miss. We booked a half day tour with the host. In hindsight we would have booked a different tour. Pillows weren't overly comfortable but was OK for 1 night.

The best place we stayed at! The room was spacious and clean. Each room has its own terrace, and there’s also plenty of seating in the beautiful garden. Every morning, we had breakfast in the treehouse overlooking the lake. Gamini and his wife are such lovely hosts. He picked us up from the train station, organized a safari and an Ayurveda treatment for us, and took us on a tour to see Sigiriya/Pidurangala Rock and the temples in Dambulla. His wife prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us. They always made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The Wi-Fi was also good.

PROPERTY: Lovely homestay surrounded by trees and lovely garden.The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and airy. All the facilities like hot water, airconditioning, water pressure etc was perfect. BREAKFAST:Our breakfast was included and it was the best we had in Srilanka.Its varied everyday and its plentiful and very tasty.(SEE PHOTOS) We had 2 dinners cooked by his wife and they were delicious and generous portions. TOURS: Host Kalhara will organize tours at reasonable rate and his driver is a very nice person. we did a tour and driver was very patient and took us around paddy fields. We arrived around 830pm after a day long road trip, hungry and tired. Kanchana prepared a satisfying meal for the four of us at such short notice. Her husband also arranged tuk tuks for us to tour Anuradhapura. The location is rustic and quiet. A lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life

The owners, Leo and Wanda, couldn’t do enough to help our stay go smoothly. They helped shape are itinerary and suggestions additions that were fantastic, eg Sri Lankan dance show at the cultural centre, organising a fabulous yoga teacher, as well as great safari. Relaxed and happy vibe to the place with lovely pool area.
