A cerca de 2,5 km de Gal Viharaya e a 2,9 km de Polonnaruwa Vatadage, Lake Cabin fornece quartos com ar condicionado e casa de banho privada em Polonnaruwa. This place deserves more than 5 stars. The location is THE BEST you could ever imagine. Right at the edge of a national park with view onto a lake you see lots of macaques and langurs, birds, mongooses and with a bit of luck elephants roaming around, sometimes they come very close and are just 2 few meters away. No worries there is security fence as you know it from national park areas inbetween. The cabins, very exclusively as there are only 2 available, are perfectly equipped, spotless clean, airtight - so no bugs will bother you as long as you exercise common sense to keep doors closed and come with very good working air-conditioning. You have a nice cozy seating area/porch attached to watch the animals while you are enjoying meals or ice-cold drinks. Bringing your binoculars to view animals further away is recommended. Sanka is THE BEST host you could ever imagine, very warm welcoming and always smiling, and very attentive. He is always available, happy to serve you his delicious food and ice-cold drinks to your room, everything for very reasonable prices. He helps to arrange safaris for you, provides amazing advise on sightseeing, loves to exchange experiences with his guests. He is such a lovely person, himself still very excited about the wildlife, it was hard to leave this place. Ensure to reserve ahead as this place has only 2 cabins and is of course very popular. Com vista do jardim, Binara Home Stay encontra-se em Polonnaruwa e possui um restaurante, uma cozinha partilhada, snack-bar, jardim e terraço. We stayed at Binara for two nights and really enjoyed our time. You stay in the house of the lovely couple who have two adorable little children. Breakfast and dinner are lovingly prepared. The excavation site of Polonnaruwa is easy to reach by bike. On Binara's recommendation, we went on a boat trip with fishermen, a couple, who even had a small picnic with them. A very special experience. He also arranged pick-ups for us with a reliable driver. We really enjoyed our days at Binara and can highly recommend this family-run accommodation.

I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to go to Polonnarawu. It’s very affordable and the location is right next to the ancient city. You can get a bicycle to get around. The food is amazing, the wife of the host is a truly amazing chef. Every night we would go for a little wild life walk, free of charge! He also helped me to arrange a safari tour, which was very affordable; I was by myself and I paid the entrance fee and I had a my own driver/guide and in total I did not spend more than €75,-!! I would recommend everyone going here!

Jayaru Guest House situa-se em Polonnaruwa, a 4 minutos a pé de Polonnaruwa Clock Tower, e dispõe de acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito e um restaurante. The family is incredibly welcoming, from the parents to the son, that is helping from time to time. The rooms are nice and clean, the bed comfortable and you can rent a bike there to go visit the city (although a bit old they work well). The breakfast was very good. Our only regret was spending only one night here and continue our chat with the son and father. Thank you for the hospitality and the ride to the bus station!

The cozy atmosphere of the guesthouse, combined with the warm hospitality of our host, made our time in Polonnaruwa truly memorable. We highly recommend Sunset Tourist Home to anyone looking for a delightful place to stay with an outstanding host! Ask the host for the catamaran tour: a tour with a local fisherman to spot birds and eliphants (we saw them swimming). Breakfast and dinner are optional and are prepared by the host.
