Udara was so helpful with everything. He arranged an incredible dinner for us (his mother cooked) and the breakfast was also awesome. He also played some UNO almost until midnight with us and we talked a lot about stuff in Sri Lanka and Yala especially. The vila is big and beautiful, the rooms are completely soundproof (the massive doors help a lot). Udara also hosts three snakes in a tree in the garden and they are so small and beautiful, and also harmless. He also went with us to a temple nearby and explained the history of it. Host is so kind thar he will take great care of each and everything. Room was so nice and clean with chilled AC and fan. Host picked me up from bus stop which is extremely helpful because it was raining and there were no tuk tuk there. I had to go to Ella later, host provided best guidance how to get direct bus. Host took me on his car to bus stop. Bus stop was quite far. Host ensures I boarded bus safely and then he left. Best host I had ever.

This was our second visit to Mailagama Cinnamon Residence and we were truly happy to see again the owners of the hotel, Indira and her husband. The hotel is located in a picturesque place among green rice fields. We loved walking around the area - there are large lakes nearby, and there are few people around, but an incredible number of peacocks. A real kingdom of peacocks. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony with a great view. There was also a big shared terrace to work online or to do yoga. The fans helped to cope with the heat, which was important for us. We really liked the Srilankan food at the hotel - delicious and served with great elegance. Manager Inbaraj was always attentive and helped us with any questions. On his advice, we visited two temples - Rock Temple where you can see dozens of funny monkeys and Kataragama Maha Devalaya. Both places are interesting and atmospheric, especially the latter, which is famous for its festivals throughout the country. We hope to come back here next year to see the beauty of the nature and to feel the special friendly atmosphere.

Our stay at Lake Front Yala Safari will definitely remain in our memories for a long time, thanks to the warmth and kindness of the family who runs this place. The atmosphere was genuinely homely and welcoming. The rooms were clean, and the food they served was absolutely delicious and fresh. The safari was professionally organized, and it was clear that our driver was very experienced. We saw a wide variety of animals, and we were lucky enough to spot leopards several times – once from a very close distance. We highly recommend this place and truly regret that we couldn’t stay longer.

The villa was beautiful, well equipped and maintained and had everything we needed. It is in a stunning location, peaceful and quiet and very convenient for safari. The food, prepared to order each day was delicious and the BBQ a really special evening. And the safari...wow!! Can't wait to go again!

But the best part of my stay was definitely the owner - funny and genuine. He took the time to show me the wildlife of his town and shared his love for birds with me. Definitely a highlight of my Sri Lanka experience.
