The beds were cozy, and the amenities were top-notch, including a well-equipped kitchenette and free Wi-Fi. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the beach and the vibrant town center, making it easy to explore local shops and restaurants. We really appreciated the privacy that the layout of the guesthouse provides, allowing for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The courtyard is a lovely spot to unwind wirh secure parking. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for activities and dining. Overall, Japie's Yard is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Swakopmund.

The rooms were beautiful with a wonderful mix of “warehouse industrial “ and locally inspired art. The host were welcoming and warm. It was like staying with friends. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

This was by far one of our favorite stays while traveling in Africa. The hosts communicated nicely before we arrived, sharing the location and asking us what we were interested in doing while in town. They also gave amazing recommendations for close by food and drinks. The room and outdoor space was nice and spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and felt easy to relax in. The shower was perfect after a day of activities with good pressure and heat. It was a much needed feeling of home after traveling for so long. We came as strangers and left feeling like family! Another part was their recommendation to do a tour of Sandwich Harbor with the tour guide, Gideon. Hands down an amazing experience with fresh oysters, champagne, and good eats while in the middle of the Namib desert. After we expressed a desire to sandboard, he ensured we had an amazing spot and prepared boards for multiple awesome rides. Then we enjoyed a spectacular Braai with everyone and it is something I will remember forever.

This place is stunning. Such a beautiful property in a truly secluded and private place. I cannot believe it was the price it was for the accommodations. Super new, super comfortable, clean, a perfect braai outside, and a wonderful kitchen. I was here alone but for a couple, this place would be spectacular. It’s new but don’t let that dissuade you. Come here.

The furnishings, like cushions for outside chairs, was a little uneven ie some had cushions and others did not. The location in a private reserve was spectacular with huge boulders and views spectacular. There are quite a few trails which you can walk by yourself. Servings at dinner and breakfast were generous; tea time cake was a lovely addition. I recommend this place before or heading out of Windhoek. No. 6, which a friend stayed in, was the best for views but a fair walk from the restaurant!
