Wonderful secluded desert camp where you can watch the sunset, sunrise, moon and milky way in peace. I saw my first ever sitting star here! The location is well away from other camps and it is very discreet. (On the drive in, you will see other camps very close to the road, don't book those) Dinner and breakfast were delicious and our fussy children found the food excellent. We took the additional options of a 4WD transfer in and a sunset camel ride. We count ourselves lucky to have the camp to ourselves for the night, as we booked a Monday evening. The camp manager is very attentive.

Excellent communication via whatsapp before arrival, very helpful. The owners drove in front of us, to find the place. Tents are spacious, toilets above expectations considering this is desert. When researching for a camp, i found myself flooded with options and read millions of reviews. They all seemed very similar and offered the same activities. However, this camp’s perfect reviews, especially the ones about how awesome of a person Rashid is, definitely called my attention. And after staying at this camp, i can 100% agree. Rashid made our experience a thousand times better. He made us feel welcomed from the start, made us laugh like few people do, and didn’t hesitate to answer any question we had about his country and culture. He shared the meals with us, took us to all the activities and made us enjoy them even more. He even went out of his way to show us and make us interact with camels and their babies that were out in the dessert, an experience we will never forget! The tent was huge, with a really comfortable bed and a private bathroom (which not many camps have for what i’ve researched). The food was really really good and just kept coming, even when we were full 😅 There was free water, tea, coffee and fruit available at all times for us. All in all, a great stay, amazing experience and the nicest host. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Oman!

Sultan Private Desert Camp is situated in Bidiyah. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the luxury tent's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. We have stayed one night in the Sultan Desert Camp. They gave us an appointment in a little city outside of the desert. After tire deflate, we have followed the guide til Nomadic Camp. We were nicely welcomed. A little later, the guide drove us to our tent a little further in the desert. We have enjoyed a very nice sunset. The tent is very confortable. The shower is very basic but so good to take a shower in the desert without a roof. The guide drove us back to Nomadic camp for nice buffet dinner. We ate camel kebabs. Tea time with fire camp was great. Very good night with amazing stars observation. Breakfast at Nomadic camp was very good. Then we did a camel ride of 30 minutes. Finally the guide has guided us back to the tire shop. The camp was not full when we stayed there and the experience there was excellent. It's a family business driven by very nice and welcoming persons.
