Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Mario greeted us at the port and walked us to his home. Excellent location close to the center where lunch is served daily. Mario made us nice breakfast and dinner daily. Great location to walk and enjoy the scenery.

The beds were comfortable, quiet setting, and they setup our Lake Titicaca tour which was outstanding. We felt safe and could easily walk to the square and museums. Lodge has been owned by the family for three generations. Cafe is cute and inviting and included breakfast was substantial with eggs, fresh juice, bread, cereals, and coffee and tea.

I instantly felt so welcome- José Luis helped me to organise my transport and picked me up from the boat too. I had delicious meals made by Pilar, and it was so special to eat and talk altogether with other guests. The island and this home is extremely peaceful and beautiful. I am so grateful that I was able to stay here and with such a kind family.

The accommodations were outstanding as well as their personalized service.

From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.
