I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Summerset Place Country House is set against the foot of the Waterberg and adjacent to a private game reserve. Very nice tranquil place with beautiful gardens. We sat outside in the gardens in the evening for our take away meal. Beautiful views from the picnic area. Breakfast was excellent. Very classy establishment

Marula Cottage is a 10-minute drive from Thabazimbi in the Limpopo Province. The thatched farmhouse offers views of the Waterberg Mountains and is situated 7 km from the Marakele National Park. The property had perfect view of the mountains which looks like two lions and a crocodile if you look carefully, amazing. Good location far away from noise other than nature which surrounds this property. The bush-babies where an added treat. Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Dinner was delicious, prepared by Monika and Dave, anyone staying here is missing out if they eat anywhere else. PS. Breakfast delicious also.

Exceeded my expectations. Amazing little place with breathtaking views, kitchen/ lounge/ dining area opens onto boma. So nice and spacious fitted with all that is needed. Nyala came to eat fruit out my children's hands at the campsite. Could see zebra, ostrich and buck from our boma. Lynne was really accommodating and friendly. Kids were so chuffed to be called to come see a baby Blesbok.

My family and I loved all the extra touches to the place and gestures from the host such as sweets on the bed, champagne, cake etc. Our stay was very pleasant and we are already talking about our next visit to this place.
