Loved our stay at Kai Lions, we arrived a few hours than initially planned, hours before our check in and we were greeted by Chris outside the hostel who was warm, welcoming and ready to help us. He stored our luggage and gave us great recommendations for food and attractions to visit (for those who wanted to check in earlier it’s subject to availability but you can pay for an early check in). We did also rent scooters with Kai Lions, which was easy and straightforward as we were assisted by Chris. The facilities such as showers were very clean and spacious with plenty of shelves/ hooks to hang belongings and they provided shampoo and shower gel. The toilets/sinks were always cleaned and they provided hand soap (majority of the hostels we’ve stayed in didn’t). As for the beds in the dorms we had capsule style bunk beds which was nice for privacy, but not only that they were very comfortable and again also very clean. This a very chilled hostel which was exactly what we were looking for and other guests were also friendly but not only that the staff were always willing to help to make your stay more comfortable. We spent some time each day speaking to Chris getting recommendations and swapping travel stories with him and really appreciated him taking his time to speak to us as newbie travellers. Although we didn’t spend a lot of time in Pakse, we’ve loved his recommendations (Vida bakery, Meilings restaurant, Jasmines restaurant) Cannot recommend this hostel enough!!!

- perfect location - walking distance to the river, temples, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. - as a solo female traveller, I felt very safe. - Rooms are clean and pleasant with fans and AC. - HUGE plus point: the rooms have functioning curtains so they STAY DARK when you want to sleep!!!! I have travelled a lot in SE Asia and had a lot of issues in other hotels with curtains that don't block light from outside at all, making it impossible to sleep past sunrise, which is exhausting. Not here - the room was dark with the curtains closed, comfortable and I slept very well. - Xavier is extremely helpful and was able to assist me with everything from day trips (Wat Phou) to airport transfer, arranging a driver, even when I had to go Western Union. - Breakfast isn't included but I had coffee every day - the price is reasonable, coffee is good quality and it's very pleasant to sit in front of the hotel in the morning as it's peaceful with lots of plants. - Highly recommend this place.

Very clean, excellent staff, great hot shower, location and river views. Very good value and good breakfast included. 2nd morning woke to find ute tyre flat from a puncture and hotel owner arranged staff employee to remove wheel and take to garage for puncture repair and replace wheel. Owner wanted no money for staff labour, saying part of service to help guests but I tipped the staff employee for his hard work anyway, being the right thing to do.

Property is just off the Main Street in Pakse, ideally situated from the bus station and restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Property was in good condition and typical for a cheap Lao guesthouse. The lady on reception spoke fantastic English, was very helpful and arranged transport to Pakse Airport for me for an extremely cheap price. For 215,000 Kip or $7 you can’t fault it.

Great guesthouse for Bolaven Loop people and anybody else passing through Pakse! The owner is very friendly and helpful with years of experience in Laos. Guesthouse is in a great location, very clean and comfortable. And we loved the breakfast!!! Great value for money. Would stay again.

We loved our stay here. Tina was so friendly, welcoming and helpful with all we needed from recommending places to eat to book our train tickets and a motorbike. The location is ideal, near the football stadium where you can go and watch football games for free, nearby there is also a shopping mall and many restaurants. Also Tina’s own cooking was really good and we had such a nice time eating with her and her family <3 Until next time!

Brilliant hostel with an incredibly good price-performance ratio. They now even offer free breakfast. The accommodation is new, modern, very clean and well run. We had a double room and it was very quiet the whole time. We would come back any time. The location is perfect, within walking distance of the old town center and close to restaurants, small stores and the river. There is the possibility to rent motorcycles and organize tickets for the onward journey.
