Due to delayed flights we arrived on Nosy Komba just before midnight but the staff had arranged our transfers which all went smoothly. Just be aware that you'll be stepping off the boat into shallow water. Location - fantastic as its close to the main village where there are bars and shops and a pharmacy. Also trips can be booked from here. The lemur park is close by too. Of course Floraly is situated on the beach (which is a main way for locals and tourists to get around the island). There is a coral reef just past the sand bank too which is great for snorkeling. And the jungle is on the otherside. Lemurs can often be seen skulking about and in the bay over turtles can often be spotted. Food - absolutely fantastic! Every meal was a delight! We even cancelled plans to go out for dinner in the village as we didn't want to miss a fantastic meal at the hotel. Every evening there were two choices and we were never disappointed, always amazed. Staff- lovely staff who of course mainly spoke French but we managed to communicate quite well with everyone and several of the staff had very good English. Cleanliness- fantastic! The ladies were super lovely too and we felt really well cared for. Then there were also lovely cocktails, great comfy sunbeds, plenty of shade for our puny white skin and peaceful. The bed was comfy, glad that the bathroom was downstairs and not in the main room. It all felt really private and we had a balcony too.

The staff were exceptional, they were very personal, very friendly, went above and beyond to help us, and make us feel comfortable and at home. They would accompany us on our tours as our tour guides, so you could really get to know them and be known. The accomodation was right on the ocean which was so stunning, and we loved going everywhere by boat.

Silvien, the owner, is super friendly and helpful. Claire (the in-house chef) is absolutely lovely, and makes excellent breakfast and dinner. Her husband, Fidelys, is the boatman, and can do all boat transfers and fishing excursions. The small self-catering kitchen is a great addition (if available when booking 2 or more rooms, without other guests). The location is really good, nice and secluded, but close to the village and easy access for transfers/excursion. Close to the lemur park (in the village), which is a MUST. Beds were nice and big, with big canopy mosquito nets. All in all 10/10.

Before arrival Valerie the owner assisted us with all our transfers ensuring everything ran smoothly. Upon arrival our bags were carried up for us and we were greeted with warm smiles and deliciously cold welcome drinks. Treated like rock stars. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our bed was beautifully decorated with flowers and a heart shaped towel for our honeymoon. There were even hot showers (not that you need them) but after a week of cold showers it was very pleasant. The food was amazing and overall very good value for money. The Happy Komba team went above and beyond for us. I see why Valerie named it Happy Komba lodge as the staff are all very happy with big smiles always. We will definitely be back.
