Took our breakfast with us. It has only been built for 4 years and is new. The location was excellent a short walk to the main street. The Com is attached to the Pub the Commercial Hotel so could pop in for a drink or a meal if you liked. The building design was quite different with separate motel rooms(almost a tiny home) separated by empty garages on two levels Our room had lovely afternoon sun. Plenty of parking and space. Built in front of the big rock cliffs of Whakatane and the Tuis were very busy in the bush in the morning - lovely.

Always well stocked, comfortable and clean. Even the TV and heating was on when we arrived at 10.30pm which was beautiful welcoming feeling.
