Ricky was an amazing host. Did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. The room is clean, there is plenty of hot water, and a beautiful garden.

I had an amazing stay at la casa de Ricky and would 100% recommend. I booked for one night but ended up staying three. The 4 bed room is spacious with very comfortable beds, lockers and hot shower. The place is really pretty with a big and beautiful garden. Ricky was super friendly and helpful, he would wake up especially to make me breakfast before I went hiking. He has two friendly dogs and a very cute cat. Truly the best place I've stayed in whole Peru !

The rooms are really spacious and the roof terrace is a very peaceful place to relax in the warm afternoon sun. The beds were incredibly comfortable and perhaps the most comfortable pillows we've experienced in 7 months in South America! The house is very welcoming, and the people that work here are lovely; kind, caring, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. The rooftop laundry area is a great addition, and being able to hand-wash our merino and delicates was a great bonus! Wifi was stable and fast, and we loved being able to relax with a movie on Netflix at the end of a long day walk. They very kindly and securely looked after our luggage while we were away on the Santa Cruz trek, and were very helpful with tips and a map of places of interest. They helped us book an early morning taxi to Laguna 69, and even came out with us to make sure we found it! Really nice spot, and genuinely welcoming people!

What a wonderful, wonderful place. We were pretty uncertain about our plans in the area and Kelly was beyond helpful, giving us (great) suggestions, booking taxis, putting up with all of our logistics so patiently and with so much care! We could not have felt more at home. I had a stressful work call during my stay which required good internet and Kelly gave me access to her office, Ethernet and was so helpful throughout. The internet was amazing! The room is big, comfortable, full of light. The hot bathtub is amazing after days of hiking. The garden is angelical and the food at the restaurant was great as well! Kelly prepared us amazing sandwiches since we couldn’t have breakfast on site. Overall we couldn’t have been happier and wanted to prolong our stay! Thank you Kelly for one of our best stays in Peru!

Pukayaku lodge in Caraz is not what you would expect from a typical lodge, it is a blend between a secluded paradise and a personal invitation to a spectacular private home. Being located right above Caraz and situated close to a mountain river, Pukayaku lodge provides views to both Cordillera negra and Cordillera blanca. Caraz is easily accessible in 20 min by feet or in 5 min with a mototaxi. The room which we had was just fantastic, both breakfast and dinner (optional) were of superb quality. The true highlight of Pukayaku lodge, however, are the owners, Bely and Jorge. Both are very open and friendly, easily accessible for all sorts of questions, truly engaged to make the stay at their house a nice one, constantly providing a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere – taken together, a dream pair of ideal hosts. Thank you, Bely and Jorge, for the wonderful week at Pukayaku lodge.

Absolute value for money, so comfortable and clean, also spacious both the room and the bathroom although we booked the smallest one. The lady running it very friendly and helpful, makes the stay even nicer experience. There is a microwave, water heater and a fridge in the hallway for guests to use.

Great location by market although can be loud at night particularly on weekends. Owner is very lovely and runs a delicious chicken shop downstairs. Great value for what you get, clean and comfortable.

Beautiful spot in the center of Caraz. Close to shops and restaurants and the center square. The staff are very friendly and the pool and garden are amazing to relax in. Highly recommend!

Everything 😃 We got a lot of good advice about the trip from Caraz to Vaquería with colectivos and when we came back from the Santa Cruz Trek we got a room for half price, so we could take a shower. Also we could leave some of our stuff in the house, while we were hiking. Yoly is so nice and very good in speaking english - nice for us because our spanish is not so good 🙃 Yoly is the best 🇵🇪♥️
