Excellent price to quality ratio and very well located near the gate while remaining super private. The tents and shared toilets are amazingly clean, which is rare for a budget rented camp. You can see giraffes and zebras from your tent, which is incredible. Best of all has to be the staff - Nelson and the team are always ready to help and very friendly. The food by Chef Nelson is excellent and they’re very flexible to dietary restrictions. All in all, I was very glad I chose this place compared to other expensive lodges.

We called ahead to advise we would be late for check in, won't bore with details, and Sandra was fantastic. Despite our late timing we were greeted very warmly with hot towels and a welcome drink. Check in was very relaxed. We also received an upgrade which was a treat and the accommodation was beautiful. Food was excellent, staff all very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again if we are back this eay.

We were welcomed with open arms by Naomi and Philiph, while the owner Magdy was still on a business trip. The check-in went smoothly and Naomi and Philiph were extremely hospitable and catering to our needs. It was emphasised that they wanted us to feel as comfortable as possible. The food prepared by Naomi was exquisite. We had dinner every evening of our stay and it was always fresh, plenty, varied, ... simply everything we needed. We are vegetarian and vegan, and this was also no problem at all. The breakfast was also lovely and easy to take away on a game drive. Magdy was extremely helpful in booking a game drive with the best driver imaginable. He also helped us find a driver to bring us to our next location (Amboseli, which was quite far). This drive was very reasonably priced and we felt very safe and comfortable with the driver Magdy arranged for us. Philiph also took us on a small promenade to see hippos nearby and this was also a very nice experience. In conclusion, this was by far our favourite place to stay in our two weeks itinerary in Kenya. We felt at home because of the wonderful people we met and we would love to visit again. This place as well as the people we met here have a special place in our heart. We wish them all the best and invite everyone to meet them as well! We hope to come back!

Food was very tasty all 3 days, service was excellent, facilities pretty clean and well maintained, location is just by the entry gate, swimming pool available and clean, animals around (monkeys, crocodile in the river, even a hippo passed by the camp!). Additionally, a friend of mine needed to come a day later than booked and the bill was adapted accordingly...really outstanding behaviour!!

We had an amazing stay at Mara Hilltop – truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! The view was breathtaking, and the tent was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up. Special thanks to Chef Allan for the delicious meals, and to Lucia and Steve who were always so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Our game drives were unforgettable with Ken, an excellent driver who made sure we saw the Big 5! In Nairobi, John was also a great driver who took care of us very well. One of the highlights of our trip was the nature walk with Dickson – he was such a knowledgeable and engaging guide, making it an incredible experience. A huge thank you to NJ, a very patient owner who always responded to all my queries, and to Nick, who went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort, even checking in with us on our way home. Everything was so wonderful that we ended up extending our stay. We highly recommend Mara Hilltop Camp to anyone visiting the Masai Mara – you will not be disappointed!

Super location with tents spaced out between private winding paths on a hill with a view. Dining area with fireplace and washroom. Tents with washroom also. Great dinner was an added bonus. This was super for a group of work colleagues visiting the park.
