This is an amazing experience not to be missed if you are the adventurous type, but still like creature comforts. There are only 6 cabins in a wonderland setting near the Park. A nice pool for dipping in after your safari is great. But the highlight is the staff. From Nissantha, Sumudu and ALL the staff you will get a warm welcome and friendly service. Their passion for the environment is wonderful and as a bonus, the food is excellent traditional Sri Lankan. This was one of the biggest pleasant surprises on our trip. We will be back and highly recommend it if visiting Yala Park!

The cleanest rooms, welcoming owner, the dinner they serve is also amazing and richer than the restaurants offer. He also has bikes you can borrow to stroll around the lakes, he offers you tea and coffee during the day, he lends you binoculars...one evening they spotted this cute owl near the property and he called us if we wanted to come see it...just soooo attentive, I wish we could stay there longer! Oh and the driver he recommended for the Yala safari was also great.

We have been recommending this place to everyone, it is not in the busy noisy center but near the Yala national park - you have lakes around and see many birds, buffalos and occasionally elephants drinking in the evening. The owner Shashika and his mom are the perfect host, they are super attentive, the food is amazing (mom cooking! We were even able to see the kitchen and everything is handmade). We went with Shashika on a walking tour which is part of the amenities offered, it’s so worth it! He is super knowledgeable about birds, animal tracks and very attentive to your security. I was with my 3 years old, he also helped carry him at the end of our walking tour. The dog accompanying us is your angel guard, going in front to make sure you are safe (he was very protective of my son). Finally the place you stay, it’s clean, very good standards, you feel like you are integrated in nature - every details has been thought about: the handmade wooden chairs, the little deck with a little pond all around with fishes and frogs, the handmade cutlery, the oiled light fired at night… we didn’t stay in the tree house but it was equally nice, you still have a tree in the shower, a great fan and you have a tree for the shade. It feels like you sleep in the jungle with the surrounding noises, it’s super peaceful! We loved this place and it will be on top of our list if we come back to SL! They are building two new places also with private swimming pools - it’s going to be magical! They all have their privacy so you really feel you are alone!
