The toilets and showers were very clean. A magical paradise. The hut was perfectly cute right on the water front.

The place is very beautiful and peaceful. A towel was provided for the stay. It's a little bit of a walk to the property but it is worth it.

Without a doubt, this is the most amazing place I've stayed during my travels, and I can't recommend it enough! The dorm room is basic, but the real magic lies in the gorgeous gardens and pool, which make the atmosphere so tranquil and perfect for relaxation. The hammocks were a dream. Even though there isn't a kitchen, the food was so good that I didn't mind eating there at all. You can tell the owners take immense pride in the property; it was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. There were many staff around, but they were never bothersome. My stay was absolutely wonderful, and I would eagerly return – it's truly a special place!

Help to rent mopeds, organise transport, guides etc. The room was spacious, bed was really comfortable, hardly any creepy crawlies (this is a complaint from many of the eco lodges). Good wifi. 2 fans which was nice. Good shower pressure and temperature.

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and it was just perfect. The shower even had hot water (not that you need it with the heat) and the room was really clean and made us feel at home. The hostel is surrounded by nature and they even offer filtered water which is really practical because buying countless plastic bottles was starting to annoy us. They also offer tours to the volcano, scooter rents and other activities for a very fair price. The breakfast is delicious as well, prepared fresh and with love. The owners were super friendly too. They told us what we could do in Ometepe giving their personal opinion on different activities without being pushy or trying to sell us any tours at all. We really loved our stay at Urraca Loca!
