Hiša Aleš absolutely exceeded our expectations! My husband and I were travelling to Slovenia for our mini honey-moon and Hiša Aleš was our last point before returning home. The staff at the hotel were incredible and truly made our stay the last cherry on the cake for the trip. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The dinner at their restaurant was 10/10. We even got to meet the neighbours cat who visits the hotel every evening!

This hostel is set in the centre of Kranj, in a 17th century renovated house.It offers free Wi-Fi access and a large terrace with views of the Kokra River. This is a big beautiful home transformed into a hostel. Everything was spotless clean and you could have food and drinks on the ground floor, there is a nice big terrace. Our room had everything we needed, it was spacious and comfy. The location is perfect and this part of the city is very quiet bc there is no traffic (pedestrian zone). The hostess is an amazing person and her kids are the cutest! Hope we get a chance to come back to Kranj and Cukrarna!

Highly recommended for families that want a private location to stay. Host was flexible with arrival time. Breakfast was good with great coffee. Shared kitchen was fantastic.

The location is surreal. You look up and you see the beautiful hill top of Grintovec. Below, a few meters from the cabin there is a perfect little creek, just the right soundtrack to your dreams. The night sky is magical, full of stars. The cabins are clean and smell of fresh wood. There are two beds in each and there is also electricity so you can charge your devices and light so you can read. The shared bathrooms and showers are clean and close to the cabins. As everyone before said, the host is friendly and interesting. A perfect stop when passing through or a base if you want to explore this amazing part of Slovenia with all its hiking trails, rivers and mountains.

Very friendly and welcoming host. As a bonus, one can walk to a local river, where is a small bar where you can have a drink in the shade on the river bank.
