We had a huge apartment with terrace on the 3rd floor for 4 nights. Everything seems new. Parking was near the front door. The apartment is a very short walk to the train station and a number of good restaurants and the village’s store. We did breakfast in, ate picnic lunches on the trails, and enjoyed the restaurants for dinner. If you plan to self-cater (more than breakfast) shop in a bigger town. We had towel and trash service daily when we wanted it. Bed was large and very comfortable. Tons of closet space.

Surrounded by the High Tatras National Park and set in Tatranská Lomnica Ski Area, Penzión Jesenský offers accommodation with a garden, a terrace, a bike rental and a games room with billiards. Excellent location in a beautiful building. Close to restaurants and shops but also to cable cars and hiking paths. Nice and helpful staff. Basic but tasty breakfast.

Located in Štrbské Pleso and surrounded by the High Tatras National Park, Apartmany Panorama 10X-90X offers accommodation in private apartment sets in the Panorama Resort complex. Absolutely loved this apartment. I have to say this one is the best accommodation we have stayed in so far. The apartment was clean and had the most amazing view of the mountains. The details we received before the stay were clear and easy to follow plus had free parking as well. We'll definitely book this one again when we are back in the mountains.

Set at 1500 metres above the sea level and on the trail of Tatranska Magistrala in the Mengusovska Valley in the High Tatras, this hotel is a 60-minute hike from Strbske Pleso. Location is excellent, because many long hiking routes start from Popradske pleso, and if you don't want to walk in the morning extra 4km from parking to the start - staying in this hotel is perfect option. We had double room with a lake view and big private bathroom. They serve breakfast from 6:00 and breakfast is very rich, they serve even prosecco! In the evening restaurant and bar are open until 21 and 22, you can seat in common rooms, everything is very cosy! If you want to start your hike earlier, you can ask "grab and go" breakfast.
