The Mawimbi bungalow is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The outdoor bathroom is absolutely magical, immersed in nature. We slept peacefully every night, lulled by the sound of the waves from the beach just below. The welcome from Antonia and Hamisi was exceptional : warm, attentive, and always available. And a special mention to Warda, who prepares breakfast: she is an amazing cook, always smiling and full of good energy. We highly recommend this place and would love to return asap :)

Best budget accomodation in Kilidoni.

The lodge manages to combine luxury without spoiling the aesthetics and serenity that this wonderful location provides. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Wonderful private beach and a beautifully peaceful location, though it is quite isolated from everything else (which can be both a good and a bad thing). The place is fairly new, so a few details are still finding their final form.

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

Mafia Dream Hotel ligger i Kilindoni, 5,5 km fra Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, og har en udendørs swimmingpool, en have og et fælles opholdsområde samt gratis privat parkering. The property is very new, everything is neat and clean. I felt very sheltered and welcomed. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The rooms are very spacious and have high ceilings. The pool is clean and has a beautiful illumination at night. The restaurant is excellent. I liked that it has prices in shillings and not in dollars, and that locals (those who can afford it) come here for dinner. They are really devoted to offering good service not only to tourists but to returning customers. This place makes an excellent stopover, since it's just a 5 minutes walk to the airport.

Kileleni ligger i Kilindoni og har en udendørs swimmingpool, have, en terrasse og bar. Værelserne har aircondition, et skrivebord, gratis wi-fi og udsigt til en have. We absolutely loved our stay at Kileleni. It’s a great little hotel, the perfect place to chill out or enjoy the island from. The rooms and grounds are beautifully looked after and the pool is a great spot for a dip. The food was all very nice but the best thing about the place was definitely the staff. Ali and his crew were so kind and friendly, there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely recommend for your stay in Mafia Island.

Dive Planet Mafia Island ligger i Utende, 7,6 km fra Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, og har en udendørs swimmingpool, en have og en terrasse samt gratis privat parkering. Dive Planet Mafia Island er et fremragende sted at bo. Alt er så fint, flot og velfungerende. Jeg var den eneste gæst - og jeg nød roen og de perfekte omgivelser: Værelset var godt indrettet med god seng, flot badeværelse med dejlig varmt vand. Fantastisk beliggenhed med fin restaurant med flot udsigt over havet. Jeg nød den dejlige pool - som var meget ren og havde en god temperatur - ca. 27 grader- Jeg kunne selv vælge tidspunkt for morgenmad, frokost og aftensmad. Maden var rigtig lækker: friske råvare og lækker fisk - altid velsmagende og flot anrettet. Fik altid en lille forret og hovedret. Maden kom meget hurtig. Meget venlig, søde og imødekommende personale - som er meget hjælpsomme. F.eks ønskede jeg vin til min aftensmad - og stedet opfyldte min ønsker - og skaffede vin specielt til mig.
