The rooms are clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The breakfast surprised me—tasty and had everything. The location is excellent. But it’s the staff that really surprised me. I speak only a little Spanish, but they were so welcoming and worked with me. There are two moments that really stood out, that I think bear mentioning here. One evening, I had a difficult experience with a rude/aggressive man at a restaurant (avoid pizzeria la cuicha) that left me rather shaken. A woman named Rita at the hotels front desk was very kind and helped me feel better and safe—a true gift when alone in a new place. One morning, my car wouldn’t start due to a dead battery. A different woman at the front desk (whose name I sadly never got) was very helpful and arranged for a man to come jump my car—I tried to pay/tip him and was refused. It was dealt with quickly and professionally. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I was in such good hands. This is what hotels should be.
