Fab little self-contained lodge, everything you needed for your stay. Exceptionally clean, home from home. Set in beautiful surroundings and great views from the deck. So peaceful, plenty of wildlife and walks nearby for the dogs.
Lovely hosts, lovely room. Great welcome. When we were there (end of July) it was very quiet. Walk into town took about 35 minutes but it was a beautiful sunset that evening so the walk was enjoyable.
Continental Breakfast was good. Secure safe ample parking for the Motorcycle Strong powerful hot shower Comfortable bed Cleanliness of room and kitchen / eating area
The setting and spacious accommodation the peaceful balcony, it was very enjoyable. A morning walk around the lanes and to the lake. In some places, it was like going back in time. Seeing so much wildlife and walking through the fields, seeing the old buildings makes you feel rested. We went to Bamburgh Castle and a working cornmill complete with waterwheel, Flodden field, Berwick all within easy reach by car. In our opinion, a wonderful place to stay.
The view is incredible, so many of the iconic points are visible. From the Church Point to The Needles Eye. The whole bay sweeps before you, with sunsets and sunrises, to leave you in awe of mother nature. The gentle sounds of the sea can be heard. Newbiggin is both a great place to visit and central start point to visit many others; Alnwick, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Tynemouth to name but a few.
Breakfast was lovely and very tasty. Eileen has a number of beautiful cats who share her home. We like cats and they didn’t bother us, they’re very well mannered and friendly without being fussy. The house is beautiful and very clean. Beds comfy and beautiful linen. The grounds are immaculately kept and there was even a “safari” which we did on the morning we left.
Excellent location in terms of access to places we wanted to visit. Great views over countryside and evening sunsets, and relaxing to see from the verandah various tame and wild life going about their business. Snug, quiet and comfortable accommodation with delightful private garden. Copious instant hot water supply in hut (NB scalding if you're not careful). Comfortable bed. Helpful responses to emailed questions.
