The room was very clean and well organised. The courtyard was such a great spot to relax after exploring the town, which was only a few minutes walk away. This is definitely one of my favourite places I've stayed in. Frank was such a friendly and helpful person. I'd love to return to Wernigerode and have a beer with him as I'm sure he can tell some amazing stories. Thanks again for the Schierker Feuerstein and the outdoor public swimming pool recommendation. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Great location. Rooms and all hotel newly renovated and very clean. Easy parking. Good breakfast.

The historical hotel had many decorative items, and the young host family brought new initiative and warmth to the stay. In my particular case, as a solo older female hiking/camping the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg, I booked a bed in the 8-bed dorm room and appreciated a comfortable bed, warm building, and a great breakfast to propel me on the next leg of the journey. Altenbrak I had only known from driving through it, and the Hexen-Harzer-Stieg showed me much more of this very beautiful area in the Harz.

What an amazing place! This has been by far the most cosy and wonderful glamping tent we ever stayed in. The owners were very approachable and kind. Literally anything was thought of to make it a convenient and enjoyable stay, with all the kitchen equipment provided and a clean private bathroom with a pretty fancy shower. Perfect location for a mountain bike trip! We enjoyed the wonderful quiet surroundings of the central Harz by bike and steam train, but relaxing on the porch of our tent was just as great. Can't wait to return!

The apartment is beautiful, very clean and has a great bed. The available space is used very well and it truly has everything you need. It is very nice that you can park safely and for free at the apartment. Within five minutes of walking you are in the city center. Perfect!
