Situated in Galgamuwa in the Monaragala District region, Redstone Cottage Gal Oya has a terrace and mountain views. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Outdoor seating is also available at the campground. This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊

The spacious campground is fitted with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a patio with mountain views. A private entrance leads guests into the campground, where they can enjoy some fruits. The property has an outdoor dining area. A true little piece of paradise nestled among the rice fields at the foot of the Sri Lankan mountains. Far from the hustle and bustle, this place offers a stunning natural setting, full of life – birds, butterflies, and many other animals you can quietly observe. The family who runs the hotel is incredibly warm and caring – we felt at home from the very first moment. Their hospitality made our stay truly special. An ideal place to reconnect with nature, unwind, and experience the authentic Sri Lanka. We leave with full hearts and deep gratitude. Thank you for this beautiful escape!
