The location of Claro de Luna is great - a beautiful garden just by the river, frequently visited by colibras and other birds. Perfect to relax after a long day of trekking. The cabin is simple but clean and comfortable. Water in the shower was hot enough, Wi-Fi was ok. And the lady who owns the place is so kind and helpful! She was quick to answer every question and checked on us frequently.

A special mention goes to Mary, who went above and beyond to assist with any request I had. Whether it was providing local recommendations or helping with special arrangements, her warm and personalized service made me feel incredibly welcomed and valued. The hotel itself offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, making it the perfect place to unwind. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed to create a calm, tranquil atmosphere. It’s easy to see that the hotel takes great care in maintaining a serene ambiance for all guests. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was a delicious spread, offering a variety of fresh, high-quality options. From fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes, it was a perfect way to start the day. Our family of 4 spent 10 days relaxing here. Fabio is a lovely guy. We asked if there was any chance he could find us a guitar for our lad and he went to the trouble of borrowing one for us and drove over from Armenia with new mozzie nets for us. The house is about 10 minutes walk out of town (up hill on the way back!). It's in beautiful peaceful location, with gorgeous views. I'll never forget watching the sunrise from the bedroom balcony, drinking local coffee and watching the hummingbirds buzz past just a few feet away. The track to the house carries on down to the river (about a 20 minute walk) which is great, because the road would be challenging with traffic. Don't miss walking a little way back towards town in the dark to see fields full of fireflies! We left a bit of our hearts here.
