Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Thank you, Fernando, for making our stay so special.

beautifully designed rooms in the middle of the jungle, very thoughtfully done, we were woken up by the monkeys which was just amazing, so many animals sightings all day long breakfast was splendid with a beautiful personal touch! would definitely come back to this beautiful oasis

I would give this guesthouse 7 stars if that were possible. The staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The grounds are a tropical paradise full of birds, butterflies & other wildlife. The rooms are clean & comfortable surrounded by the beautiful gardens.

I wish I could extend my stay in Cahujita and enjoy this little paradise. I had my blur house in the middle of the jungle, where you can connect with the nature and wildlife but at the same time being so close to the Playa Negra (7-8 min) and to the main street (5 min) where you can find all the restaurants, bars and shops. The room was very spacious, clean, with the nice terrace and hammock and kind and very helpful staff. I highly recommend this beautiful place and hope to come back again! Thank you!

The house was small but very well equipped and clean. The property is very well maintained and private. The location is excellent at less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and an excellent restaurant.
