Most wonderful place I have visited, in the middle of nowhere but still in the middle of a paradise. Lovely and flexible owners and very warm welcoming.

It’s amazing property in secluded place surrounded by pure nature. It’s touching Carara National Park and it’s home of huge variety of birds. We made a great birdwatching tour there with local guide. Local organic food that goes from farm to plate was delicious (i.e crepes with home made chocolate really surprised us). If you love nature or you are just looking for total tranquility, Macaw lodge shall be part of your consideration. You need a vehicle with high ground clearance to get there (unpaved roads).

The owner of this lovely place are just so good people with a big heart. The owner brought us with their car to the next ATM because there isn't a ATM close. The rooms are clean and new. WiFi is perfect. Shower has a lot of pressure. Own freezer in the room. Supermarket 1 min walk. Bus station 5 min walk. It's a small village. Tranquilo and save. We would stay there again. Visited because crocodile tour was close to the place.

The room was excellent, super comfy beds, good shower pressure, very clean. The location was idyllic and had stunning views Host was excellent, very accommodating and helpful, gave good recommendations and also helped us by giving us a lift to the bus station

The room was basically a small private bungalow with a unique feature: an outside toilet and bathroom in that it was part of the small outside garden but sealed off from view. I thought this was amusing though I can imagine some might find it bizarre. Another interesting feature were the birds visible when eating breakfast. I don't believe in feeding the wildlife but it was a pleasure to see so many birds including a few Aras (red parrots). We saw more there than in any of the parks. Breakfast was good and the pizza was good too...made by an Italian so it had to be. Great stopover place when travelling from the north pacific coast to the south atlantic coast.
