I had the pleasure of spending a night at one of Ella’s best-known hostels, Tomorrowland, where I met the owner. During our conversation, he suggested that if I was planning to visit the southern beaches, I should consider staying at their brand-new beach property—Tomorrowland Beach Villas in Rekawa, Tangalle. Although I had already booked accommodations in Mirissa, I decided to take a chance and spend a night at Tomorrowland Beach Villas before heading to my final destination—Kandy. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely hosts, Irushi and Hiruni, making it one of the most heartfelt greetings I’ve received at a property in Sri Lanka. I was given the Winter Villa, a stunning all-wood cabin perched right at the water’s edge, where the waves crashed just below. For dinner, I indulged in one of Tomorrowland’s specialties—the Pompano Fish, part of an impressive selection of freshly caught seafood. Dining at sunset, right where the waves met the shore, was nothing short of sublime. Adding to the charm, a breakwater runs perpendicular to Tomorrowland’s private beach. The right side forms a serene, blue-water pool, where I enjoyed a leisurely soak until sundown. Although Tomorrowland had arranged an early morning bird-watching lagoon cruise, I ended up sleeping in until 9:00 AM—unfortunately missing the adventure, as I had to rush to catch my transportation to Kandy. Tomorrowland Beach Villas is a paradise for couples who cherish privacy, romance, and a touch of indulgence. I will definitely be returning with my partner next time—and with a few well-earned credits from Tomorrowland Properties, it’s sure to be even more memorable. Five stars all the way!

This is the most beautiful property I’ve ever stayed in. The host is so incredibly lovely and helpful; he booked our tour to Udawalawe for us and offered to help with bookings cars, etc. It’s a little out of town but PickMe works great to order a tuk tuk or car. We didn’t have dinner at the property, but it looked good. It’s a short walk to the beach (with monkeys to spot on the way!) where there’s a nice restaurant to have drinks and dinner at on the beach.

Everything was so well prepared, the ac in our room worked perfectly and all of the basic amenities were there. The location is just perfect, 2 minutes walking to the secret beach which is so far the most beautiful one I’ve seen in Sri Lanka. Outside there is a shower so don’t worry about the sand in your shower. There is a kitchen with fridge and stove, we bought a tuna steak in Tangalle and when asked about using the stove the owner even brought us some spices!

Beautiful place, surrounded by nature with a view on the lagoon, peacocks running around and an amazing beach a 10 min walk away. The a/c was working well. Everything was very clean. The owner was very friendly and prepared the best food I had in Sri Lanka.

We absolutely loved this place! It is a hidden gem! The owner and his wife are very heartily and welcoming, helping us with everything that we needed! The two cabanas are in a beautiful garden where you also have the very delicious traditional Sri Lanka breakfast! The Goyambokka beach is just a 5 minutes walk away, the silent beach 10 min walk. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend to anybody to come and stay here! Thank you again for making our stay so very special 🌸
