Great place to stay with beautiful views. The hosts were great and accommodating. Very friendly host who worked very hard. Really liked this spot. A little further out of imlil town but not too far and means you get to see the stars properly. Great stay and at a great cost.

Hassan was very gentle and the cooking class with Latifa and Malika was so interesting and funny... Plus we had the best cous cous and tangine of our week in Maroc. I wish we stayed more.

A beautiful stone lodge set in a very authentic, incredibly quiet, and peaceful Berber village in the High Atlas mountains. You're a ten minute drive from Armoud, but it's almost impossible to comprehend how such a short distance could yield such positive differences; there is no tourist carnival here nor pushy touts here as in Armoud or Imlil. It's like you're in a different world. This is a rustic mountain retreat, with traditional architecture and sweeping mountains views often frequented by goats; its full of sunlight and beautiful wood. It has a super homey feel, and is spotlessly clean, with incredibly comfortable beds. It's entirely heated by fireplaces making it that much more romantic, lovely and peaceful. It is chilly in winter, but they have plenty of blankets to help keep you warm, and even though I like it hot all the time, I wouldn't wish for central air. This place feels trapped in time and is a true gem. This is where you come to get away from it all and connect with nature, but everything you need is here, including wonderful homemade yogurt and bread for breakfast, and wonderful tea. Malika and the other staff are atttentive without being intrusive, helpful, funny, lovely, accomodating, and genuinely warm, and made my stay that much more genuine and lovely, even teaching me a few Berber words. Here, you can wander out the door into the mountains and meet local shepherds who will invite you to join them for tea on the mountainside with no agenda. The warmth and culture of the Berber people is remarkable. A nice gesture is to bring snacks like candies or treats hard to come by in these mountains and especially tylenol and/or ibuprofen to share with the people who extend you their hospitality. I was often asked for medicine, never money. Even though they seem close to services, many only have mules as transport, and perhaps cannot afford these things. I would definitely return.

Rashid and his family's hospitality was tremendous, they helped with everything we needed, from accommodation to hike tips. We felt very welcomed at their place. The views from our room were spectacular, facing the Imlil valley and the Atlas mountains. During our stay we had great dinners and the chance to experience the moroccan hammam.

Fatima was a great host. She woke up at 2am just to make me breakfast for my hike 🤣

Our overnight stay here was the highlight of our trip to Morocco! It’s truly a unique and beautiful experience. The location and views by themselves are breathtaking but Lahcen and his family go above and beyond with their kindness and generous hospitality to make everything about the stay one you’ll never forget. All the food was exceptional, and it was no problem us both being vegan. We had a very fun cooking lesson with the family in the evening, including being surprised with a couple of beautiful traditional Berber outfits. The next morning, after a breakfast watching the sunrise we were given directions for a pretty walk through the village and orchards to the waterfall before being met back in Imlil with our luggage for the taxi back. If you want an amazing trip to Morocco then staying at the Authentic Toubkal Lodge is a must. There are also a couple of very cute cats! Thank you especially to Abdul for everything :) tanmirt!
