We (three individuals - two adults and one child) were lucky enough to spend two nights in the family cottage at Mlilwane. The cottage was beautiful with two bed rooms (four single beds in one room and one double bed in the other - all with mosquito nets and room fans), a simple kitchen and bathroom, and a lovely lounge space indoors and an exceptional porch and yard. The entire place was clean and well looked after. The cottage was near reception, the pool, and the restaurant. The staff at reception were all incredibly kind and helpful - trying to make sure we had the experience we were looking for in terms of activities booked (a village tour + mountain bike rental) and time at Mlilwane (spent mountain biking, trail running, and playing in the amazing pool). The pool was fantastic - it was big and had a nice shallow area for younger kids and a huge deep area that was wonderful for jumping in and swimming. We spent quite some time by the pool, especially given the heat when we were visiting (December). The trails and property is an outdoor enthusiast's dream - it was fantastic to be able to run by wildebeests, antelopes, crocodiles, etc. There was so much space and the trails were well marked and maintained. We were also really happy we did the village tour as it allowed us to learn more about the community in the area, which was really wonderful. We only had one meal at the restaurant as we were staying in a self-catering unit, but that meal was good. The food was well done and tasted good (we got two vegetarian meals and a meat sandwich as they ran out of hamburgers). The location and vibe of the restaurant were great, really glad we ate there.

The staff are wonderful and are the reason I would want to come back to this place. The day receptionist was such a jolly and respectful and helpful woman, and the staff cleaning and cooking meals are just on point always.

upto now this i the best place i visited on my 4 month south africa quest, every thing was well done the size of the bungalow with plenty of space and the views from the top of the mountain were superb and the host was a perfect gent taking me to a number of shopping arcades in the area, i had a spot of gout and he took me to a pharmacist to get my meds,very nice stay for the 6 nights, stange i had the best location but not in south africa but swaziland
