Beautiful, clean, no airco but fans are great, mosquito net, fresh towels and cleaning of room daily, great breakfast, very nice staff, beautiful swimming pool

The location is wonderful, quiet and absolutely relaxing. The bungalow where we stayed did not have all the comforts like an hotel room, but we knew what we were doing when we booked here, we wanted to be immerse in the nature and that was exactly what we got, we even had the pleasure to see a little monkey on our balcony one day. All the people working at Evergreen are super polite and available, the way the treated us was unbelievable, it will be very hard to forget them. The beach in front of Evergreen is not crowded like Paje, and on top of that there are very few beach boys, one day we went in Paje and regretted it because we were stopped every 2 minutes by people trying to sell you something, so we decided to come back at Evergreen. Another crazy thing is the food, litterally everything was delicious, and we tried almost the entire menu during our stay. Also we cannot fail to mention Alawi, he will be your point of reference for every tour around the island, we did many tours thanks to him, and he was so sweet to give us gifts the day we left, so we really cannot forget him, and also Yusuf (our driver) which we fell in love with. This place really left something in our heart and in our memories. If we’d ever come back to Zanzibar this is the only place where we’d want to stay. A huge thank you goes also to Claudia and Mustafa, they did a wonderful job at Evergreen you can fell their love for this place, and on top of that they were very helpful. It is impossibile to not drop some tears the day you leave.

clean room with good water pressure. good location (2mins to beach), the breakfast is good, worker and chef are so nice, they got fresh fruit for breakfast. The boss is helpful, he suggest and direct me to Jozani and Paje beach.

The staff was friendly and in good mood. Always attentive. The beach was kept clean, which seemed to be part of the 'clean village project', which is actively supported by Blue Reef. We had breakfast and dinner. We have chosen the healthy variety, which was good and rife in fruit. Dinner was excellent. From the concise menu we enjoyed the yellow tuna steak from freshly caught fish by staff (as can be expected in a 'fishing' lodge). We were very pleased by the huge beach that appeared at low tide.

Abu and Lucky were the friendliest people we met during our stay, we felt like home. You need anything, and the staff will help you! The place is really not far from the beach, and there is a nice swimming pool in case of low tide. You can also play pool and have some cold beers. The breakfast is giant :)

I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

Afya is a paradise off the beaten track. The location is hidden away from the touristy areas, located on a quiet stretch of beach ideal for long walks and swimming. The bungalows are private and comfortable and run on solar power - a great example of sustainable tourism. The staff are super helpful and friendly - shout out to Ali, Timoth and Nadra for making our stay so wonderful! We ended up extending our stay as we loved it so much!

The staff was amazing, they always ensured that we had what we needed at all times. The bungalow we were staying in was great. There is an amazing entrance where you can relax. It is very close to the beach, a local bar and a few restaurants. The bungalows are fairly close to many turistic attractions and other turistic beaches (driving or bus). The food at Sagando is very tasty. We had an amazing time, it was lots of fun.
