We can highly recommend the Neckview Lodge - the location including the view is a dream, it is very cosily furnished, totally clean, spacious, the staff is super nice, helpful and attentive and we were also delighted with the food. We felt completely at home & would have loved to stay longer in this great place ... definitely one of the best accommodations on our trip! We were really well looked after, taken on several nature and community walks through the area and accompanied on our gorilla trekking (to make sure everything went well). Thanks to the whole team and especially to Nelly & Ella - we would love to come back one day.

A wonderful stay! It's a very nice place to stay with everything you need. Simple, no luxury, but that's exactly what makes it perfect for the jungle setting. Since the twin rooms are small, our daughter got her own room free of charge. We received a very warm welcome, and all the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Great views, comfortable beds, hot showers, delicious food, and a packed lunch! There were only very brief power outages, and a generator was available for these situations. Our concern that we might not have enough power to charge our devices was unfounded. Dan arranged the permits for the gorilla trekking for us, and everything went perfectly. When we got a flat tire, Dan even organized the repair while we were out trekking. The gate where the gorilla trekking starts is only a 5-minute walk away. The host accompanied us there and picked us up again, making sure everything was working smoothly. We debated for a long time whether we should afford the gorilla trekking despite the high cost, and we're so glad we did. It was an outstanding experience. We traveled as self-drivers, and when we couldn't find the road to Bohoma at the end, our host even sent a driver to show us the way. The road to Bohoma isn't the best, but it's easily manageable even in the rainy season with a Toyota Land Cruiser. In summary, everything was perfect, and we would book there again in a heartbeat. The value for money was excellent. If we had had more time, we would have loved to stay another night.

The team is incredibly helpful and thoughtful, the views are insane, the ambience serene and tranquil, the rooms are sparklingly clean and constantly refreshed. What a service! From the moment I arrived at the airstrip,the lodge had arranged for a driver to pick me up, to arriving at the lodge,the hospitality was exceptional. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind ,they made me feel right at home. The lodge is beautifully perched in the hills, offering stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountains. Waking up to the peaceful sounds of nature and seeing the morning mist drift through the trees was simply magical. The rooms at Kaara Mountain Lodge are spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a perfect balance of comfort, luxury, and eco-friendliness. I especially appreciated the little touches, like the cozy hot water bottles in the bed at night and the warm turndown service after a long day. The food was another standout ;fresh, delicious, and made with great care. Each meal, from the early breakfast before trekking to the hearty dinner in the evening, was a treat. The dining area itself is beautifully set, making every meal feel special. Most importantly, the lodge is ideally located for gorilla tracking, making the logistics incredibly easy. After an awe-inspiring day of encountering mountain gorillas, returning to the calm and comfort of Kaara Mountain Lodge was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on such a unique experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge while traveling with our rooftop tent, and it exceeded all expectations! The lodge staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Even though we were camping, we were given access to the lodge’s excellent facilities, which were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The location is perfect for gorilla trekking, with the starting point just a short distance away. The lodge’s peaceful surroundings, nestled in the heart of nature, provided a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area before or after an adventurous day. We also appreciated the option to enjoy meals at the lodge – the food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The staff were attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
