Good food & bush braai. Super friendly owners and family athmosphere due to daily dining together. Great accomodation in the middle of the bush. No hassle at al to get out of the kruger gate 1 day and next day in again. Highly recomendable.

My partner and I had a lovely one night stay here on Christmas Day. It was about 5.5 hours to drive here from Johannesburg and we stayed here as it is right outside the Phalaborwa gate (about 5 minutes.) So location was excellent. The unit itself was nice and secure with dedicated parking, a secure gate at the property and cameras. We felt completely safe. The unit had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, particularly on Christmas where we were able to assemble a Christmas dinner without issue. There are three comfortable beds and all the amenities you might need. They also leave a park entry form that needs to be filled out before entering the park and it was nice to fill it out at a table in the evening rather than doing so over a counter with 10 other people at the park gate reception. The couple running this place were also friendly and had a little chat while we got settled and offered us some mangos from the beautiful tree on the property. If you are visiting the park and looking for somewhere to stay, stay here.

Our stay at Sunbird Lodge was fantastic. Its location in a tropical garden and proximity to Phalaborwa Gate made the two days we spent there relaxing and enjoyable. The absolute best thing was the host Dave, kind and caring, always ready to share a talk and a laugh. He booked us game drives and gave tips on navigating the Kruger ourselves. Beautiful resort at very close distance from Kruger park. Rondawels were very clean and situated in such a way that they felt private, but at a close distance to the other rondawels where our kids were staying. Restaurant was very good and plenty of choices. We also booked a gamedrive via the reception before our arrival which was great and well organized. Staff took very good care of us, many thanks!

We loved this amazing Safari lodge! Warren and his team were super friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special. We loved the safari drives and the bush walk is a must do! We saw all of the big 5 plus so many more beautiful animals and birds. Warren's knowledge of everything in the park is astonishing and we loved learning about the history of the area and South Africa in general from him. The property is stunning and we especially loved eating/relaxing on the deck watching the many animals pass by.
