We had this hotel recommended from one of my Danish friends who stayed here three years ago and stated it was a highlight of her trip in Bolivia. Having travelled for 7 weeks in South America now, we can also say that this is a key highlight of our trip! We stayed in the Suite with Jacuzzi and it was stunning. The attention to detail in the rooms made us feel very cozy and at ease from the get go. We can highly recommend booking this room if you want a huge window with a nature view and the most relaxing setting. The Jacuzzi fits two people and you will have views of the beautiful lake. The staff was so helpful and accommodated all our requests be it tea to the room, an extra night, arranging baggage service or routes to walk around the island- thank you! As we booked a second night we changed rooms as the Suite with Jacuzzi was unavailable. We stayed in a Double Room which was also very nice. All in all, treat yourself to a stay here!

A cama era confortável, o quarto era limpo, os cobertores agradáveis e aquecem no frio que faz no local, apesar de quarto não ter aquecedor. O café da manhã era ótimo, tinha pão caseiro delicioso, fruta, iogurte, ovo, café/chá e suco. O hotel dispunha de uma “mercearia” onde se podia comprar água, refrigerante, guloseimas, biscoitos e até roupas de frio. Também é possível jantar no hotel com preços bons e comida de qualidade (sopa, peixe, frango, pizza, hambúrguer etc)

A vista do quarto é linda demais, de frente para o Lago Titicaca e Cordilheira dos Andes, nascer do Sol incrível. É bem perto do Templo do Sol. A Teodora, a anfitriã, é adorável e super prestativa, o almoço, pizza e sopa que é servido são deliciosos. Café da manhã muito gostoso também! Cama super confortável e chuveiro bom também.

We absolutely loved staying here. The lodge is owned and operated by a local family. They have built a great lodge that is really well taken care of. The view of the lake from the rooms and the property is absolutely stunning. We found time everyday at the property to just sit on the outside chairs to take in the view, read a bit and watch the people go by with their donkeys and produce from their land. The family (Oscar, Sonia, Lis) were super friendly and helpful. They did a great job with breakfast. We loved that they also offered dinner which Sonia, the mother, makes herself. After taking long hikes around the island, we didn't have the energy to go out for dinner. The guestroom is very well done and super well taken care of and clean. We stayed in a family room with a lake view which was very large. The shower had reasonable pressure and hot water. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of blankets and an electric heater for the chilly nights. It is a very steep climb from the boat drop off point to the various lodges. The Utasawa lodge offers donkey service for getting your luggage up the mountain. I strongly suggest you take advantage of it. We thought it was a bargain, particularly after watching everyone with luggage struggling big time to make it up the mountain to the various lodges and hostals. We were sad to leave after three nights. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely recommend to any of our friends if visiting the island.
