Everything was beautiful here, the room, the horse stables , the farm , the pool , the restaurent. Staying here was a unique experience. Definitely recommend the horse back riding.

There are also 11 km of walking trails throughout the property, or guests can just relax in the hot tub or have a massage in the spa. Arenal Observatory Lodge was highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Location and facilities are simply amazing. We didn’t expect to lay on our beds and watch volcano and toucans perched on the trees right by our windows! Staff is wonderful. Luis was our driver who picked us up in San Jose and told us a lot about area, tours and facilities during our ride. He was attentive and caring. He also delivered sunglasses we forgot in the shop in La Fortuna, was very kind of him. Carlos from reception helped us to receive our luggage which was delayed by airline. He informed us when luggage finally arrived. Trails are in very good conditions and have protection from rain every km or so. Trails were easy or moderate, so even my mum who is 64 coped with them and truly enjoyed it. Food in the restaurant is very tasty and well presented. Thanks to everyone in the Lodge who made our stay unforgettable!

Our chalet was located in the middle of the jungle. Lot of birds around, which we love. The location was close enough to town, but far enough away for peace and quiet.

Comfortable rooms and a feeling of contact with nature. I loved to fall asleep with the sound of the river at night.

Beautiful uninterrupted view of the Arenal volcano and valley. Quiet, rural setting with a few cabins nearby. The bedroom had double windows opening on to the patio. It was a good size with 2 comfortable queen beds and a put up bed for a child. Aircon was only in the bedroom, it was quiet and efficient. There was a large shower unit with lots of hot water. Cushioned seats and a table were on a covered patio which was large enough to use during a downpour. The settee in the living area was a good size. The kitchen has a full sized freestanding cooker with 4 rings , a microwave, rice steamer, and mini oven grill, coffee machine and kettle. Cooking utensils were limited to spoons/ slice and a knife. There were plenty of pans & a colander. The 11kg load washing machine was a bonus. Daniel was quick to respond, friendly and helpful. We were delighted when he introduced us to Freddy a local sloth at the end of the drive.
