The hosts Lilly and Simon are the most wonderful people ever. Kind souls that can make your stay here in Fiji a truly one of a kind experience. Staying at the salt lake lodge didn't feel like a hotel or resort, but instead felt like you got to experience how it would feel to live in a Fijian family. Not only were the people great but the food was extraordinary. They both could be in a Michelin star restaurant with the food they provided. We would also recommend doin LOVO with them, which is a traditional grill on an campfire of which I shared photos of. The location itself for us was also a 10/10 because we love being surrounded in nature, and what ever window you looked out from was the beautiful environment, even from the shower you could see the river. Ideally located for diving, Barefoot Kuata Island Resort Island offers a bar, restaurant, swimming pool and games room. Every interaction at this property was based in the legendary Island hospitality. I have dietary restrictions. They prepared an individually talored meal for me even on buffet nights. I was recovering from a recent ankle surgery. Four members of their dive team assembled to provide me a fin and life vest combination. The snorkelling was the most successful of my life. The water crystaline, the reefs healthy with gentle leadership from the dive team. These are not luxury accommodations but they are clean and well maintained with reefs accessible from 2 of the 3 beaches. If your goal is to experience the ecosystem this is your place.

This was a perfect place to stay for me and my partner, just minutes out of the town means that it is both convenient and quiet. The staff were super helpful and happy to check us in late after we arrived from the ferry. All in all a lovely experience.
