We were treated like family at on the rocks, wawan and his team were so helpful and friendly that we instantly felt at home. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We did multiple treks with Wong and he was wonderful, so much information to share but also never even felt like he was a guide. Treks can be suited for your fitness level but you are almost guaranteed to see orangutans no matter where you go. The restaurant was also delicious.

The place was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly set up for a relaxing holiday. But what made our time extra special was the kindness and thoughtfulness of Frenkie and his wife. They surprised me with a cake and doughnuts for my birthday, which was such a heartwarming gesture and made me feel incredibly welcome and cared for. I’m so grateful for their generosity—it really made the experience unforgettable. I couldn’t recommend this villa and these amazing hosts enough. Thank you, Frenkie!

The homestay currently consists of three one-room cabins and a small house w/ a compact kitchen. It’s located in a quiet area away from the busy main road. The owner is a very kind elementary school teacher who lives near the homestay with his family. I stayed in one of the cabins and enjoyed the cleanliness, the hot water in the shower, the excellent WiFi, the exceptional view from the back porch, and the incredible hospitality of the whole family.

If you want to see orangutans in Bukit Lawang, stop looking, this is the place! The hotel is rustic and beautiful, it is next to the river and the views of the jungle from the bedroom window are incredible! From here we saw orangutans, gibbons, monkeys, langurs, butterflies and birds without having to move. It includes breakfast, and in the restaurant they serve the best curry in town! The staff always attend you with a smile and are willing to help you with whatever you need at all times, we leave with a full heart, thank you very much Pepen, Lina, Inaka, Dani, Rini, Safii, Kolik, Pindo, Ifan and of course Riko (we have a chess match pending, the definition) And if you want to do the tour and enter the national park to explore the wonders of the incredible jungle of Sumatra, well, I must say that here they have the most professional team of all! We spent 3 days and 2 nights in the jungle, with the best guides in Bukit Lawang: Rio and Jerry! They accompany you, teach you and take care of you, they care about protecting the environment and the surroundings, proud of their culture and with a smile all day, attentive to us living one of the best experiences of our entire trip through Southeast Asia.
