What a wonderful hotel. It's family run, and the proprietor Hildur is amazing! It has homely and cozy properties, much like a boutique guesthouse despite it's size. Great breakfast, bar at the lobby with some extremely friendly staff, a selection of hot tubs outside in the forest, and a nice lounge. I didn't want to leave at all, but rather just move in permanently!

It was truly one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. The golden grass, surrounding mountains, and horses created such a picturesque and peaceful atmosphere — it felt like paradise. The house itself is small but very cozy and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I’m happy to give a review of the "Heidarsel" cottage near Akureyri. After a long trip, this was the perfect place for my family of four to stay. The cottage was super clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious, with comfortable beds. The highlight was the spectacular terrace view, where we spent most of our time admiring the scenery and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

We had a fantastic time at this sumarhús. It was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed, from tea bags and kitchen towels to oil, spices, and even bags—small touches that made a big difference. The location was also unbeatable, making it easy to explore the area. A special mention to the host, who left us a lovely welcome gift in the fridge. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really added to the overall experience. We were very touched by it. Overall, a wonderful place to stay, and we'd definitely recommend it!
