Breakfast was in an amazing restaurant , catering to all needs. It also was a great location to have an amazing dinner and watch the sunset over Matera. Great location but a 15 min walk into the heart of Matera , shuttle bus available if required. Rooms were very modern and clean.

What an amazing city and an equally amazing place to stay. Huge rooms with all of the luxury items that were unexpected. Easy access via Taxi or shuttle from outside the city limits and an easy walk to restaurants, bars and some breathtaking landmarks. Highly recomended.

Detailed quick information by phone messages, contactless check-in, good location, nice views through antique shutters, spacious roof terrace, mini coffee machine, breakfast (mini) in the cafe sitting in the square overlooking the church. During the check-in we received from host by phone a good description of the places of interest with photos, links, but a tip - it could be sent at least a day before the visit, so that it can be viewed in advance

This was our second stay at Basiliani hotel for the last 6 months. We absolutely love the location, the rooms, and the spectacular views from the room. The breakfast is great - high quality local products, fresh, and nicely presented. The staff is very nice and attentive. We parked our car on a parking slot, outside the Sassi area and used the hotel shuttle service, which is very fast and convenient way to get to the hotel. Already looking forward for our next stay there.

It seems to be an apartment that was split into 2 or 3 bedrooms. You walk into a shared space/kitchen and then your key card lets you into your room. the rooms are nice, comfortable and equipped with a few gadgets that make your stay nicer. There is free city parking right beside the main entrance. You'd only need to find a spot, and I was always able to find one super quickly. There is a very efficient black out shutter system, so you can sleep in for hours and hours.

Great location in one of the oldest towns in the world. We had room 128, the highest suite with views over the town. The staff were very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Well worth having a massage at the Spa. If you’re driving best alternative is to park at Damasco with shuttle service direct to hotel.

In the heart of the Sassi within a few metres of a selection of restaurants and bars. Exceptionally helpful hosts with a map and recommending places to visit and how to get from a to b. The hotel offers paid parking and shuttle but we booked a local car park and walked about 7 minutes to hotel. Room and bathroom comfortable and clean, authentic cave room with seating outside. Reception terrace where we had drinks in the evening as the sun went down. Good breakfast.
