We had a wonderful stay and it was the perfect base for us to explore the island. The owner was so helpful with advice about car rental before we arrived. The desserts made with local fruits were delicious and very appreciated after a day of hiking. Loved the private deck and bath. We would definitely stay here again if we come back for a visit!

The Japanese style tatami and cushions in the living room with the heater were very comfortable. Appliances worked great to cook for the two of us and overall a great stay!

The house was very comfortable and well equipped. Ideal location for exploring the Kirishima Mountains. Lovely host.

Cottage Yakusugi House apresenta vista da montanha, acesso Wi-Fi gratuito e estacionamento privado gratuito em Yakushima, a 11 km de Shiratani Unsuikyo. This is a beautiful home that is much more traditional than anywhere else I managed to stay in my month-long trip in Japan. It was spacious and well maintained. It also comes with its own kitchen and fridge if you do want to cook your own food. Though we had trouble communicating in both Japanese (I am far from fluent) and English, we made it through in the end :P.
