His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made a big difference. Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

To move you need to be picked up (we had our own tuktuk and it was perfect); Sadeepa is a very helpful and gentle person. Room was very clean. The garden was a peaceful oasis, full of life with birds enjoying fruits – such a calm and relaxing scenery. And the view of Lion Rock? Simply beautiful with the rice fields around. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay – everything was perfect, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone!
