There’s a small kitchenette where you can boil water, use the dishes, and store food in the fridge. Within walking distance, you’ll find a vegetable shop and stores with all the essentials. Simple yet delicious Sri Lankan food is available nearby. The room doesn’t feel hot, so there’s no need for air conditioning. I didn’t even use the fan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge after exploring the mountains and local sights. Getting to the center of Kandy is easy: take a tuk-tuk or hop on a local bus, which runs frequently. The host is an incredibly kind, hospitable, and responsive person, always ready to assist with anything you need. You can tell he truly loves what he does. He also has a wonderful dog, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. A pleasant surprise for me was that they sort waste here, which is rare to see. For just $13 a night, you won’t find a better place to stay in Kandy!

Every sunrise and sunset felt like a gift. What really made our stay so special, though, was the owner. When we had a medical situation, he personally took us to the hospital—no questions asked. Throughout our visit, he went above and beyond, even for the smallest things. He helped with genuine care, always doing his absolute best, and you could feel how sincere he was. The food was another highlight. It wasn’t fancy or over the top—it was just really good, honest cooking made with love. Every meal felt comforting, like something you'd hope for after a long day. This place isn’t just a hotel—it’s a place where you feel truly looked after. We’ll always remember it.

We had an amazing one-night stay at Tedro Homestay and would absolutely give them 5 stars! The room was spotless and very well maintained, making it super comfortable. The family was incredibly warm and welcoming. They truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It was clear that they value people more than money, which made the experience feel so genuine and heartfelt. The breakfast was also really delicious and freshly prepared. Such wonderful, kind people. I’d highly recommend Tedro Homestay to anyone looking for a clean, cozy stay with the friendliest hosts!

Would definitely recommend to a friend or a colleague to pay a visit to stay here. Mr. Pathirana, the owner warmly welcomed us and briefed us about the facilities and amenities. He recommended us the exceptionally good Pittu (which we claim the best Pittu we ever had) cooked for dinner by his cook, Mr. Chaminda. And he recommended to us their special Kiribath (milk rice) made from a special rice for breakfast. The room was very cozy and had everything we needed. The room had a bathroom and an outdoor shower carved out of a single granite. The backyard of the room was a small hill, grown with flowers and vegetables. On top of the hill (about 25m-50m away from the room), there was a swing decorated with flowers. The dinner and the breakfast were filling and tasty. Mr. Asanka warmly arranged the table for us. After breakfast, Mr. Chaminda walked us to their nearby land to show us their vegetable garden, water lily (Olu) pond and the well next to the Kubuk tree. It was an unforgettable stay for us and we thank Mr. Pathirana, Mr. Chaminda, Mr. Asanka and Mr. Pathirana's wife for that.

Our recent stay here was truly one of the best experiencs we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the incredible hospitality and the stunning location. The owner, Mr. Ajith, has created a beautifull and unique space that feels both relaxing and welcoming. A special thank to Mr. Herath, who was incredibly freindly, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. The highlight of our visit, however, was the food. It was absolutely delicious! …some of the best we've tasted in all of Sri Lanka. We loved the design of the property. We loved the cleanliness. We loved that almost everything was made out of wood, giving the space an attic feel. The a-frame structure is so incredible. The view from our balcony was breathtaking, offering a good view of the mountains. Our group of eight people was very comfortable, and there was enough space for everyone to relax and socialize. Another wonderful perk is that “Bellwood View Point” is very close to the property. A small note for future guests: the access roads are quite narrow and not well maintained. When two vehicles pass, there isn’t much room to pull over, so extra caution is needed when driving. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway with exceptional service and a spectacular view.
